We have been treated to a most unreal presentation of a birth certificate and subsequent conversation on Opra and fund raisers. The certificate has been fisked quite thoroughly and shown to be a fake, and that was the first day. However, I would like to note something. What does it say about someone that has the information readily available, (assuming it to be the right one) and spends millions to keep it from the public until forced politically into a corner? This is someone who believes that normal convention – read law – doesn’t apply to him. Law is what he decides it to be, and to whom he decides it to apply. Just off the top of my head, black panthers, shakedown of BP, waivers from obammacare.
Siblinginbox had an interesting observation from this last week. Note how many weeks wildfires have been burning in Texas and no word from the whitehouse. A storm hits Tennessee and pres 0 is there the next day. (I did see a couple of frames and had to note that he was talking with some official without a teleprompter. Quite impressive considering his last two years of history.)
The birth certificate is simply another example of someone applying thug politics nationally.

Several years ago, there was a guy in church who worked in the sewage plant for our town. We were blessed with a tour of the plant. There is a rake at the start or depending upon perspective outlet of the sewage pipes. This rake was used to catch any objects big enough to cause a problem with the plant and requiring a dump in the “sanitary landfill”. Let me pause a moment to consider the pairing of those two words.

Now I’m back. The rake is followed by a vat 24 feet deep where the sewage is fed to bacteria. Imagine a 24′ swimming pool of bacteria and you get the picture. This vat is then pumped to sprayers that settle over a round rock bed where the particles are collected and after a certain amount of time, the beds are cleaned.
The water is then sent through some “sun pools”, I forget their name which are to make the bacteria come in contact with as much ultraviolet energy as possible and kill the bacteria. These are shallow troughs and the water from these is sent down aqueducts and pumped through sprayers that the farmers east of town use to water their fields.
The water then filters down through the ground into the water table to be pumped back out and start the journey again. Now that you have the picture of our water system, consider a billboard noted west of town:

So let’s see…your dog should not fertilize the lawn because it is going into the water in the lake? How about the 24 inch sewage pipe from all the personal waste that gets pumped – eventually – over all the fields and then back into the water table. I guess that’s all right, but the dog behaving naturally is a problem.
Don’t forget that the water on this planet has always been here. There has been no creation since the beginning, which means these molecules are the same as they have been for 6 thousand up to 3 billion years – depending upon perspective. Yes, I’m saying our wonderful bottled, filtered, capped and sold water is the same substance that made its way through the alimentary canal of some dinosaur. So a stupid billboard talking about the natural behavior of a dog is insulting. Note that they don’t offer an alternative. How about flushing it so it feeds the fields just like the human crap.
Next, don’t forget the fish. W.C. Fields famous quote noted
“I never drink water because of the disgusting things that fish do in it.”
I suppose they have a toilet that runs out to the same treatment facility…

I was pulling loose eyelashes this morning and on a whim looked up eyelash mites. Spouseinbox was handy and I mentioned “check this out.”
Reply: “I could have gone all day without seeing that.”

Just one of many:

So there I am, minding my own business, killing orcs and such, when Monkey comes screaming out of the bedroom and slams from window to window.
Naturally, this gave me pause. I thought perhaps I ought to look outside and see perchance if something was there to alarm her.
This is what I saw:

This is the best list I could find on how to identify and counter these shills of the state.
For a taste: “1. Hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil. Regardless of what you know, don’t discuss it — especially if you are a public figure, news anchor, etc. If it’s not reported, it didn’t happen, and you never have to deal with the issues.
2. Become incredulous and indignant. Avoid discussing key issues and instead focus on side issues which can be used show the topic as being critical of some otherwise sacrosanct group or theme. This is also known as the “How dare you!” gambit.”

Many news moments come to mind.

“I opined that most Germans were not Nazis and most Russians were not Communists, but Americans hadn’t constantly been called upon to make that distinction. And just because most Muslims weren’t blowing up Israeli school buses and pizza parlors, and weren’t murdering American soldiers and pregnant women at Fort Hood and elsewhere, didn’t mean a heck of a lot of them didn’t favor bringing Shariah law to America or that they hadn’t been contributing to terrorist organizations through Islamic charities until the FBI shut them down.”

Of course, read the rest.

I note this in the context of those trying to make some distinction in islam to allow for “moderates”. Every ex-muslim I have heard interviewed stated most clearly and emphatically that there is only one islam. In other words, the “moderates” are simply putting on a play or are providing support quietly for the “radical” elements. Consider a set of chopsticks. There is one that is held firmly in the crook of the thumb and rests on the middle finger and doesn’t move. The second stick is between the distal joint of the thumb and the proximal joint of the pointer finger and moves to provide pressure on both sides of whatever article is to be moved. Take away either stick and the action is thwarted. The stable stick is a requirement for action to occur. Those muslims called “moderate” are the stable stick allowing the moving elements to accomplish the task they both are set to do.

Considering fat taxes
“It’s a proposed law and if it makes it, just like Obamacare, it’s the camel’s nose in the tent. It’ll go from ‘Obese’ and ‘smoking’ to any other thing the nanny-staters don’t like, because after all, it’s the law, and we are just implementing regulation ‘X’ under it for your own good.

Or to quote C.S. Lewis:
“It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their consciences.”
