Barnhardt had a post with an embedded video which I have copied here:

This has some interesting points, and with some of them I agree.
One of her comments is as follows:

Because godless Marxist-Communists infiltrated and then eventually overthrew our education system, media and churches, people in this culture are not only “uneducated”, they are, if I may be permitted to coin a new term, CONTRA-EDUCATED. “Uneducated” implies that a person has not been presented any information at all. That is somewhat the case, but not the complete case. No. The Marxists who have infiltrated the entire education system, media and churches have been presenting information that was objectively false and evil. They have been teaching children and young adults lies, and discouraging any capacity for logical, reasoned thought. They have created a system whereby lies are fed, and the students are expected to swallow those lies whole and never, ever question them. Pumping students’ minds full of lies and discouraging any capacity for independent thought is the DIAMETRICAL OPPOSITE of education. So, people today are not just uneducated, they are indeed CONTRA-EDUCATED. We are not talking a mere absence of the thing, we are talking about the diametrical opposite of the thing.

I copy this here from her site at barnhardt.biz as there are no permalinks available there. The two points noted from both the video and her comments are that our systems are corrupt as a result of the education or rather contra-education of our population and jump to the observation by Souter that those looking for a “savior” will choose a dictator. The history was noted in his comments. As to our population I just wanted to remind again about how far we have fallen in the area of education with a simple question. Could the average high-school graduate understand the following?

AFTER an unequivocal experience of the inefficiency of the subsisting federal government, you are called upon to deliberate on a new Constitution for the United States of America. The subject speaks its own importance; comprehending in its consequences nothing less than the existence of the UNION, the safety and welfare of the parts of which it is composed, the fate of an empire in many respects the most interesting in the world. It has been frequently remarked that it seems to have been reserved to the people of this country, by their conduct and example, to decide the important question, whether societies of men are really capable or not of establishing good government from reflection and choice, or whether they are forever destined to depend for their political constitutions on accident and force. If there be any truth in the remark, the crisis at which we are arrived may with propriety be regarded as the era in which that decision is to be made; and a wrong election of the part we shall act may, in this view, deserve to be considered as the general misfortune of mankind.

This is from here. It is addressed “To the People of the State of New York” indicating that this was the understanding level of the population of this country generally, and particularly the state of New York at that time. I offer this as a comparison to the understanding of the population we experience presently to accentuate the lack of knowledge disseminated by public schools leading towards dependence on those better, or in this case, actually educated to make decisions regarding their own lives. It is uncomfortable to know that these are individuals who will vote, and do so with a very different mindset from those of use who pay the bills.
The Cosby show had an interesting segment where the teenage boy wanted to be on his own, and was spotted a thousand dollars by his dad and had to pay his own way. The contrast between how he felt with a bare room paying for stuff on his own and demanding stuff when his dad was paying was very clear. I offer the thought that it isn’t any different for those older than the teenage years. Anyone willing to live on someone else’s money will have very different expectations of how they should live than those who pay for what they want themselves. Those who take money via the government will vote differently than those who work and pay taxes. I can only hope that those of us who are working will be in force this November and educate the contra-educated (as much as possible, I know there are true believers who are a waste of time) in the interim.
