Yes for a FEUDAL state to work there has to be a HUGE disparity between the rich and the poor AKA no middle class. Why else do you think that over FOUR HUNDRED new taxes were levied upon the ever disappearing middle class, why we are expected to carry the burden of socialized healthcare, countless kids living in poverty, the millions of lazy people in this country, the imported poverty from South America, the socialist policies of the elitist Left, the implementation of the PC agenda, the destruction of our civil liberties, and the dumbing down of our population through the mis-education of our youth? It is all so we can return to the modern version of Dark Ages. It is how the monarchy kept control of its population and its nobility.

From here. – in the comments section.  As Rush says, in all comedy there is a bit of truth.  In this case, they are just admitting the obvious…and doing so without the slightest fear of reprisal.

I had a phone call the other day that still irritates me a bit.  I explained what I do in the previous post, so just know that I was on the phone trying to get said individual to see a doctor for a post hospital visit.  This person was entirely concerned with the cost of the visit and expressed displeasure being in Texas as we expected them to pay to see the doctor.  I will have to admit having a firestorm in the back of my head: “ummm, do you pay for food?  Do you pay for (x)?  Is our service that low on your list that it is not worth pay?  Do you expect someone else to pay for you?  Etc.”  I was good and kept the dendrites firing on the back burner.  It did, however, remind me of the mindset displayed with the riots and other melees receiving a lot or no coverage depending upon the amount of melanin the media discovers on which offender.  Am I suggesting that the media is playing a role in this societal degradation by partially presenting the news?  Yes.  Next question?  Remember the plan of Marx where two groups would be pitted against each other depending upon whether they were business owners or workers?  The MSP and other forms of entertainment and media have just adapted this concept and substituted race for business owners.  Realize that they are using Marx’s form as stated as well.  That’s covered with the “wealth inequality” being bandied about.  Imagine for a moment a society where the individuals work for what is theirs and it can’t be taken on the whim of a government official.  While in that line of thought consider that these same individuals are responsible for their decisions by having to live the consequences of them.  That setup would force better decisions as time progressed and individuals sought to improve their individual circumstances.  We have just the opposite in this country because behavior is maintained by removing money from workers and giving it to nonworkers.  Laziness is rewarded and the natural consequence that would normally provide thrift and responsible behavior is frustrated.  There is no wonder at the behavior presented when on considers “you get what you pay for” and we have spent trillions making this.

As this morning progresses, I have to admit being in the midst of a quiet torture.  Let me back up a minute.  I moved into a job at work requiring me to call individuals who leave the hospital without a primary care physician and offer them care from our clinic.  If they have a primary care physician out of our area or with a different group, ensure that they are being seen for a follow up to the hospital visit.  Next detail is that our insurance requires a PCP.  I have come to realize that were the occurrence such that I had a hospital visit, my name would be on my list.  I suppose it would be easy to call myself, but decided to be proper and establish care with a PCP.  The physician was chosen and date set.  This doctor also decided to do labs ahead of time.  I don’t know how much of what is being taken, but do know they are supposed to be fasting, so have started this day being “good” in anticipation of having a needle remove some of , well, you know the rest.  So here I sit doing my morning routine without the coffee – as I had wonders about my willpower were a pot made.  The cafeteria may have breakfast available – with coffee – and I’m going to find out this morning after being drained.

I have an idea on this subject, but don’t have the time to develop it right now.  So, in the mean time, consider the following:

How to survive a cop stop.   Just the verbiage should indicate to what level our society has sunk.

Broher Pilot,
What I’m coming to realize is that the more organized, depersonalized the charitable event, they easier it is for some people to slip into bad behavior. One person to another person, you get a connection and understanding of each other. The person giving “sees” the person receiving, and vice versa. There’s appreciation on both sides. Get into large, impersonal giveaways where the donors (unlike the Salvation Army lady) don’t get to meet and understand the recipients. And the recipients don’t see the people trying to help. It becomes a taking, rather than a giving. And when you get to government programs that become completely depersonalized, it’s easier still to take it for granted. I’ll still help people, but I’ll choose to do it person to person.

I don’t think any further comments are needed.  I’m just left with the question used as the title.

This past week is something I’m just glad to be through.  I imagine everyone has had a week like that.  Anyways, in a few minutes we are driving out of Bugburg and heading to a slightly larger city to see kidinbox for the day.  Normally speaking, it’s a really good day and when finished the bed looks inviting.  Again, I’m sure there are many who have had that experience.  Therefore, I’m going to utilize, take advantage, steal, coopt, or whatever term you like for grabbing someone’s e-mail and posting it for the world to see.  Siblinginbox sends me items of interest and links with the occasional comment.  I am copying it below for your reading pleasure:

Let’s call this SIBLL – SiblingInBox Link List

ADMINISTRATION AS CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY:  Key ObamaCare official likely deleted emails now sought in House probe.

[me: for those of us born last century (it wasn’t that long ago, thank you) remember an action like this causing prison time?  How about the MSP (Main Stream Propagandists) actually spending appropriate time on the illegality of the actions?  See next item.]

BECAUSE WITH CHRIS CHRISTIE, THEY WERE LAUNCHING A SPOILING ATTACK ON A GOP CANDIDATE, while Andrew Cuomo is a Democrat favorite.  Why is scandal-plagued Andrew Cuomo not getting the Christie treatment in the press?  Next question?

GANGSTER GOVERNMENT:  Inspectors general say Obama aides obstruct investigations.
“Billions of tax dollars are being lost every day to waste, fraud and
corruption in the federal government, but President Obama’s
administration is blocking inspectors general — the officials who are
most likely to find and expose such wrongdoing — from doing their jobs.
That’s the disturbing message given to Congress and the American people
this week from a majority of the federal government’s 78 IGs.”

I DON’T WANT TO HEAR ANOTHER THING ABOUT MY CARBON FOOTPRINT:  What Taxpayers Pay When Eric Holder Uses Government Jets For Personal Trips.
“According to records obtained by The Daily Caller through a Freedom
of Information Act request, Holder is getting pretty good deal here —
especially when he flies a government-owned Gulfstream V jet.  That one
day trip to Elmont, N.Y. on June 7, according to records provided to
TheDC by the Department of Justice, ended up costing the government
$14,440.  But Holder only had to reimburse the government $955 for
flying him and four passengers to the final leg of the Triple Crown
horse races that day.  That’s because he only has to pay the equivalent
cost of a coach commercial airline ticket for each non-law enforcement
passenger — not the total cost to charter the plane.

[me: quite a good article.  It follows stimulus/ response learning as its basis.  Language alert]

THE HILL: Obama prepares schools for enrollment of migrant children. “The Obama administration is preparing the nation’s schools to accept thousands of new students who illegally crossed the southwest border and are now awaiting trials on their possible deportations. A fact sheet from the Department of Education sent to states and schools on Monday highlights the children’s right to attend public school. . . . The prospect of tens of thousands of children mostly from Central American countries attending school as they wait for their immigration status to be decided has the potential to be explosive after this summer’s emotional public debate about the border.”

If we’re lending money to kids who have no hope of paying it back, to train them for jobs that don’t exist, I might suggest we’ve gone around the bend a little bit.

“CHOKE POINT” ROWBACK: Federal Agency Blames ‘Confusion’ for Choking Business Owners’ Access to Banks.
Federal regulators have backed away from pressuring banks to stop doing business with legal enterprises that the Obama administration labeled “high risk” — including selling guns, making payday loans, and trading in rare coins.
Late last month, the Federal Depositors Insurance Corporation told banks that it had removed a list of 30 examples of “high risk” activities from the agency’s website, stating its list had “led to misunderstandings.”
By “misunderstandings,” FDIC apparently meant that its guidance led to sudden decisions by banks across America to close accounts with customers that fell under any of the listed categories.
If they didn’t close the accounts, bank officers thought, they could be subject to federal audits or other investigations.
Yeah, I don’t think there was confusion at all. I think they just got caught

Higher Education
Too often, American college students face a one-question test, one based not on facts, but on ideology. The test: “Are you a liberal, or conservative?”

The correct answer is, “I’m a liberal, and proud of it.” That concerns me.

At the meeting, the chair of one of those departments said, “I find that I don’t really need to spend much time with the liberal students, because they already have it right. I spend most of my time arguing with the conservative students. That’s how I spend my time in class.”

This woman was teaching conservative students how to think about arguments and evidence; how to make your arguments in a persuasive way. She was educating them.

Her liberal students? They were given that one-question test. They were just certified as already “knowing what they need to know.”

One of my first experiences with politics in academia was when I went for extra help to a “professor”. Actually a grad student, but I didn’t really process the distinction at the time. When I got there, her door was ajar for office hours, but she was meeting with someone else, so I waited outside. She was talking, it turned out, to another grad student. They were puzzling out what to do about about their conservative students. Keep in mind, this was an intro English composition class– it had nothing to do with politics.

They both agreed that they felt that conservatives should be given lower grades due to their “bad ideology”. What they were debating was whether or not to give lower grades to students who they knew were conservative but were faking it for the grade. Should they be rewarded for trying to parrot correct thought? She was a well-known ideologue, but with the other it hadn’t occurred to me that he had strong political views at all. Behind his poker face, he was quietly punishing his political enemies. I lost track of him, but the other eventually got her PhD and is now a professor at a state university. I have no idea if she still grades on ideology; even back she’d have only been honest with a comrade.

It was a real eye-opener, especially as our college was comparatively conservative. In my own teaching, I’ve worked very hard to avoid even unconsciously rewarding and punishing my students for their ideology. OTOH, how many people like this are out there, quietly hiding behind “academic freedom” as they fight their political battles with flinty-eyed cynicism?

Little back-and-forth mini-debates in lecture last an hour at most. That mark on your transcript will follow you around for the rest of your academic career.

Mominbox is very generous – with her time.  She feels obligated to answer questionnaires that come in the mail from political types all over the country.  This approach has led us to apply a “no soliciting” sign to the front door.  After all, her personality doesn’t change between a piece of paper and a person.  I was at work a couple of days ago when my phone rang and mominbox was on the other end.  She was rather frantic about someone coming over to the house to do the carpet.  I had no information about anyone coming to the house, much less working on our carpet – which is only about 22 months old – thank you very much.  Once home, more of the story was retrieved – someone had come to the door and spoke with her, offered to clean the carpets and requested her phone number and ID information.  She was stressed trying to get stuff moved for a cleaning and not being able to do so, as well as realizing someone was coming into the house – really not desired.  I informed her not to worry, no one would be coming into the house.  I would take care of the issue.  I went outside and opened the truck to start working on it as we had been doing all week at that point.  That location was the perfect position to catch anyone approaching.  It wasn’t too long before some SUV drove up and parked at the end of the driveway.  A man exited the vehicle and went to the back to open the tailgate.  I approached and requested, “May I help you?”  The response was he was there to clean the carpet.  I pointed to the sign on the door – very obvious from the street and stated there was no soliciting here and we didn’t want anything done to the carpet.  The man tried clarifying that he spoke with a lady of the house, and I made it clear that I was the owner and had not spoke with him, he could have a pleasant evening.  He shut the tailgate and got back into his vehicle trying to clarify with the other individual in the vehicle with whom he had spoken.  Off they drove.  A few minutes later, mominbox brought me out a phone with a lady’s voice on the other end wondering what had happened as all they were trying to do was provide the winnings of a drawing – a free carpet cleaning.  I clarified my identity as owner of the house and that we had no interest in any carpet cleaning.  Upon entering the house again, mominbox presented me with the torn-off paper from the earlier encounter showing in large bold $1000.00 gas or grocery card with a date and some fine print below.  On the back of the card was the following: “…may be called at their home for the purpose of having a home presentation of the Kirby Sentria.”

So, let’s recap.  The representatives of this company – Kirby Sentria – took advantage of a kind and generous senior lady.  They ignored our very clear and bold directive and bothered mominbox under the guise of winning a free carpet cleaning all for the purpose of selling the vacuum.  I received a very stressed call from mominbox and had to speak with two representatives, two different times to get across the idea that this was our home and the sign said “no soliciting.”  Keep this in mind next time you hear the name Kirby.  I shop at a department store for my vacuum.  To say I have no interest in Kirby is putting it mildly, and after last week, it will be a cold day in a very hot place before they receive any of my money.  Was I in any way unclear?
