I think that’s putting it mildly, but the comment is good in noting that the facts show wickedness, not the best desires or guidance of mankind from those in power.

Read the rest.  I like his notation of the founders being cynics.  They recognized the character of man, and designed the original government accordingly. This comment describes it well.
